Health information regarding patients and individuals have passed the state of medical record keeping, and reached the state of informatics computing. The demand for information technology is enormous in hospitals nowadays. Health information may need to be shared, especially, during a critical stage involving the livelihood of a person, for example, in a car accident. In this talk, health informatics will be briefly reviewed. Different metadata technology enabling communications among computing systems for healthcare purpose will be discussed. A large-scale computing system should be designed to serve multiple hospitals on health informatics. For research purpose, SQL and NoSQL database systems shall be discussed for handling large-scale data and information.”
