Title: Motion Sensing with Pyroelectric Infrared Sensors
Time: 1:00-2:00pm
Date: 23 January 2019 (WED)
Venue: Room C0821
Abstract
This presentation will discuss the characteristics and main applications of PIR sensors. PIR sensors are widely used in many applications including security, smart home, indoor location-aware service and activity classification. They detect the presence of humans and animals from the radiation of their body heat. This could be used to trigger various kinds of events, e.g., opening doors, recording video, fall detection, etc.
